The Role

At Fospha, quality is everyone’s responsibility — and QA is the force multiplier that makes it happen. As a QA Engineer, you’ll bring deep automation expertise to ensure our software and data systems ship faster, safer, and smarter. You’ll work across the stack — from APIs and microservices to data pipelines — translating requirements into scalable, automated validation systems that give teams confidence at every release.

This is a fantastic opportunity to shape how quality is embedded across engineering and data workflows, while working with cutting-edge tools and collaborating across teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and maintain advanced automated testing frameworks that integrate seamlessly into our CI/CD pipelines.
  • Collaborate across Core and Data Engineering teams to translate technical and business requirements into highly testable, automated systems.
  • Extend QE practices beyond traditional software to validate complex data pipelines, ML feature stores, outputs, and analytics workflows.
  • Ensure robust coverage across unit, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing, with a critical focus on system scalability and production resilience.
  • Partner with engineers, product managers, and analysts to embed and champion “shift-left” testing principles and test-driven development (TDD).
  • Support and execute performance, load, and stress testing for critical components to guarantee production resilience under load.
  • Champion automation as the primary enabler for speed and quality across the technology organisation.
  • In addition to your core responsibilities, we expect you to be excited by the opportunity GenAI brings and find new ways of working utilising our GenAI hub!

What are we looking for?

We hire for potential – you should apply if you:

  • Have strong, hands-on experience designing and implementing robust automation testing frameworks (e.g., Python-based tools, Playwright, Cypress) for high-scale environments.
  • Understand test design patterns for distributed systems, microservices, and complex APIs.
  • Are proficient in Python (bonus points for familiarity with GenAI, advanced data pipeline tools, or ML testing methodologies).
  • Have proven experience effectively testing both software applications and complex data workflows, understanding their unique challenges and convergence points.
  • Are comfortable with modern CI/CD systems, cloud environments, and containerised technologies.
  • Bring curiosity and technical ownership—you don’t just find bugs, you actively design and implement improvements that elevate the entire product and team

Our Values and Principles

You will be able to demonstrate examples of our core principles:

  • Seek inclusion & diversity: We create an environment where everyone feels welcome, and people are encouraged to speak and be heard.
  • Work Hard, Work Well, Work Together: We take responsibility for making things happen, independently and together; we help colleagues in need and close loops, making sure our work is complete and has lasting impact.
